ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations
Mobile Filling and Water Conditioning
ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations condition incoming water before it enters commercial and industrial heating and cooling systems.
Using eleXion’s Xi+ ion exchange resin, minerals and salts are removed from the fill water while helping support pH at the point of fill. This helps create low-conductivity, low-hardness system water without chemical additives.
The range can be used for initial system filling, commissioning and temporary inline conditioning of existing circulating water. Different models are available to suit a wide range of system volumes, from commercial plantrooms through to district heating and larger industrial networks.
ioniX FS supports systems designed around VDI 2035, VDI 6044, SWKI BT 102-01 and Ö-NORM H 5195-1 water quality principles.
Why choose ioniX mobile filling stations?
How ioniX FS Mobile Stations Work
Ion Exchange Resin
01Incoming water passes through eleXion Xi+ resin, removing minerals and salts to produce low-salt, demineralised system water.
pH Support
02The resin helps raise pH at point of fill, supporting stable system water conditions without chemical additives.
Conductivity Monitoring
03Using fully automated controls, water quality can be checked during filling to confirm that the required conductivity level is being achieved.
Flow and Volume Monitoring
04Integrated monitoring helps engineers track water usage during filling and commissioning.
Inline Conditioning
05The units can also be connected temporarily to an existing system to condition circulating water without a full drain-down.
High-Volume Filling
06Larger models, including FS 300 and FS 500, support high-volume applications with fill rates of up to 24,000 litres per hour.
Bespoke Skids
For projects with higher flow rates, larger system volumes or specific site requirements, eleXion can provide bespoke skid-mounted filling solutions sized to suit the application.
Skids can be configured around project demands, helping support efficient filling, commissioning and water conditioning across large commercial, industrial and heat network systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations used for?
ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations are used to condition fill water for commercial and industrial heating and cooling systems. They can support initial system filling, commissioning and temporary inline conditioning of existing circulating water.
How do ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations work?
Incoming water passes through eleXion Xi+ ion exchange resin, which removes dissolved minerals and salts to produce low-salt, low-conductivity system water. The resin also helps support pH at the point of fill without chemical additives.
What is the difference between a mobile filling station and a permanent top-up unit?
A mobile filling station is primarily used during initial filling, commissioning or temporary inline conditioning and can be moved between projects. A permanent top-up unit remains installed in the plantroom to condition future make-up water entering the system.
Which ioniX FS Mobile Filling Station do I need?
The right model depends on system volume, required flow rate and the application. The range extends from the FS 15 for smaller commercial systems through to the FS 300 and FS 500 for high-volume industrial and district heating applications. Bespoke skid-mounted systems can also be configured for larger or more complex projects. Refer to our table above for guidance.
Can ioniX FS units be used for commercial heating and chilled water systems?
Yes. The range is suitable for commercial heating, chilled water, communal heating and larger plantroom applications, with different models available depending on system size and filling requirements.
Are ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations suitable for industrial systems?
Yes. Larger models are designed for higher-volume commercial and industrial applications, including industrial heating and cooling systems, large plantrooms and network filling.
Can ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations be used for district heating networks?
Yes. The higher-capacity FS 300 and FS 500, along with bespoke skid systems, can support district heating and larger network filling where higher flow rates and system volumes are required.
Can the units condition water in an existing system?
Yes. ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations can be connected temporarily to an existing system for inline conditioning of circulating water, helping improve water quality without requiring a complete drain-down.
What water quality can ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations achieve?
The system is designed to produce low-salt, low-conductivity fill water by removing dissolved minerals and salts. For the higher-capacity units, the current technical information states total hardness below 0.1 °dH and electrical conductivity below 10 µS/cm within the applicable capacity range.
Do ioniX FS Mobile Filling Stations support VDI 2035?
Yes. The range supports systems designed around VDI 2035 and VDI 6044 water quality principles, together with SWKI BT 102-01 and Ö-NORM H 5195-1.
What is the maximum filling rate?
Larger models, including the FS 300 and FS 500, can support filling rates of up to 24,000 litres per hour, helping reduce filling time on larger commercial, industrial and network projects.
What does the water monitoring system measure?
Depending on the model, integrated monitoring can be used to check conductivity, temperature, flow and water volume during filling and commissioning, helping engineers confirm that the required water quality is being achieved. The FS 300/500 measuring computer also supports adjustable set points, alarm output, Modbus and 4–20 mA output.
Can eleXion provide bespoke mobile filling skids?
Yes. Bespoke skid-mounted filling systems can be configured for projects with higher flow rates, larger system volumes or specific site requirements, including commercial, industrial and heat network applications.
