Make-Up Water Filtration for Domestic Systems

ioniX miniView is a compact make-up water filter designed for domestic heating and cooling systems.

Installed between the filling loop and the system connection, it helps protect commissioned systems from the impact of untreated raw water top-ups.

Using a refillable colour-change resin cartridge, ioniX miniView removes dissolved salts and minerals from tap water before it enters the system. This supports low-salt, demineralised water quality in line with VDI 2035 principles.

The unit provides a simple, cost-effective way to help maintain water quality after installation, service or routine pressure top-ups.

How ioniX miniView Protects System Water

ioniX miniView treats make-up water before it enters the heating or cooling system.

Demineralised Top-Up Water

01

Tap water passes through ion exchange resin, removing dissolved salts and minerals before entering the system.

Visual Resin Monitoring

02

The transparent housing and colour-change resin make it easy to see when the cartridge needs replacing.

Simple Cartridge Replacement

03

Once exhausted, the cartridge can be exchanged or refilled with loose resin for straightforward maintenance.

Permanent Inline Protection

04

The pressure-resistant filter housing is designed for permanent installation between the filling loop and the system.

Flexible Installation

05

Available with standard horizontal connections or a 360-degree version for horizontal or vertical orientation on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about ioniX miniView, make-up water filtration and protecting domestic heating systems from untreated top-ups.

What is ioniX miniView used for?

ioniX miniView is used to filter make-up water before it enters a domestic heating or cooling system, helping protect system water quality during top-ups.

Why are raw water top-ups a problem?

Raw water top-ups can introduce minerals and salts into the system, which may contribute to scale, corrosion and reduced component lifespan.

Does ioniX miniView use chemicals?

No. The unit uses ion exchange resin to remove dissolved salts and minerals from tap water without chemical additives.

How do you know when the resin needs replacing?

The transparent housing allows the resin to be checked visually. The colour-change resin loses its colour once exhausted, indicating that the cartridge needs to be replaced or refilled.

Can the cartridge be refilled?

Yes. Once the resin is exhausted, the internal cartridge can be replaced or refilled with loose resin.

Where is ioniX miniView installed?

The unit is designed for permanent installation between the filling loop and the system connection.

Can it be installed vertically?

Yes. ioniX miniView is available with standard horizontal connections or a 360-degree version, which allows the orientation to be switched from horizontal to vertical.

Does it support VDI 2035?

Yes. ioniX miniView helps produce low-salt, demineralised water to support VDI 2035 water quality principles.

Is ioniX miniView suitable for domestic systems?

Yes. It is designed primarily for domestic applications, including heating systems, boiler systems and heat pump installations.

How is this different from ioniX mini FS?

ioniX miniView is designed for domestic make-up water top-ups, while ioniX mini FS is a filling and inline conditioning unit for domestic and light commercial systems.
