FTK Mobile & Side Stream Filters
Existing System Filtration and Clean-Up
FTK Mobile and Side Stream Filters are designed to remove sludge, corrosion debris and fine particles from circulating water in existing closed-loop heating and cooling systems.
They are commonly used as part of an initial system clean-up, where poor water quality, historical corrosion or dirt build-up is affecting system performance.
The mobile FTK filter can be temporarily connected to the system on a side stream basis, allowing circulating water to be filtered while the system is being cleaned, conditioned or brought back under control.
Once the initial clean-up has been completed, FTK filters can either remain in place as permanent side stream filtration or be removed as part of a mobile service process.
Why choose FTK Filters?
How FTK Filtration Cleans System Water
Side Stream Filtration
01The filter is connected to the system on a side stream basis, allowing a controlled volume of circulating water to pass through the filter for cleaning.
Initial System Clean-Up
02FTK filters can be used during the early stages of water quality improvement, helping remove floating debris, films and corrosion deposits from existing systems.
Ultra-Fine Filtration
03Filter cartridges are available down to 0.5 μm, allowing very fine particles to be removed from the circulating water. The current FTK page lists cartridge sizes of 40, 30, 15, 5, 1 and 0.5 μm.
Magnetic Debris Capture
04A NeoDym high-power magnet filter bar captures magnetic matter that may pass through the filter cartridge, helping remove magnetite and other magnetic debris.
Inline Conditioning
05FTK filters can be used with an ioniX Filling Station, allowing the circulating water to be filtered and conditioned at the same time.
Built for Flexible Site Use
FTK filters can be supplied as wall-hung, floor-mounted or mobile units fitted with wheels.
Stainless steel construction, pressure resistance up to 16 bar, washable filter elements and optional time clock control make the range suitable for commissioning, maintenance and ongoing side stream filtration.
• Mobile service tool
• Permanent fixed options
• Stainless steel construction
• Optional time clock
Which FTK filter is right for your system?
| Product / Format | Typical use | Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile FTK filter | Temporary clean-up of existing system water | Existing systems, service visits, flushing support and water quality recovery |
| Fixed side stream FTK filter | Permanent ongoing filtration | Plantrooms, new systems and systems requiring continuous debris removal |
| Single-cartridge FTK units | Compact filtration for smaller systems | Commercial heating, chilled water and smaller plantrooms |
| Four-cartridge FTK units | Higher-capacity filtration | Larger systems, higher debris loads and larger network applications |

Frequently Asked Questions
What are FTK Mobile and Side Stream Filters used for?
FTK filters are used to remove sludge, debris and fine particles from circulating water in closed-loop heating and cooling systems.
Can FTK filters be used on existing systems?
Yes. FTK filters can be installed on older systems where circulating water is affected by corrosion issues, sludge or debris, or where fast water quality improvement is required.
Can FTK filters be used on new systems?
Yes. FTK filters can also be installed on new systems to help protect system components from day one of operation.
What particle sizes can FTK filters remove?
FTK filters can remove particles as small as 0.5 μm, with filter sizes available in 40, 30, 15, 5, 1 and 0.5 μm.
How large is the filter surface area?
Smaller FTK models use a single cartridge with a filter surface area of 1.8m². Larger FTK units use four filter cartridges with a combined surface area of 6.8m².
Are washable filter elements available?
Yes. Stainless steel reusable 30 μm filter cartridges are available and can be used for initial system cleaning before being swapped to a finer filter cartridge.
Do FTK filters capture magnetic debris?
Yes. Filtration is supported by a NeoDym high-power magnet filter bar, which captures magnetic matter that may pass through the filter cartridge.
Can FTK filters connect to BMS?
Yes. The pressure switch can connect to the Building Management System to alert the service provider when the filter is clogged and needs replacing.
Can FTK filters be used with ioniX Filling Stations?
Yes. FTK filters can be combined with an ioniX Filling Station so circulating water can be filtered and conditioned at the same time.
Are FTK filters mobile or fixed?
Both options are available. FTK filters can be supplied as wall-hung, floor-mounted or mobile units fitted with wheels.
