Shawfair Energy Centre and District Heat Network has been named Water Treatment Project of the Year 2025 at the CSA Awards.
eleXion is proud to have supported Vattenfall, FES, Hulley & Kirkwood and Phoenix Commissioning on this award-winning project, one of the UK’s largest heat networks to adopt a chemical-free water treatment approach.
The project demonstrated how sustainable water treatment can support long-term system protection while reducing chemical use, water waste and maintenance requirements.
eleXion provided support from design through to pre-commissioning and ongoing system protection, helping deliver:
- £40,500 in avoided chemical costs
- Around 5.5 million litres of chemically treated water discharge avoided
- No ongoing chemical dosing requirements
- Reduced maintenance and system fouling
- Cleaner system water to support long-term efficiency
